John was indignant, and suggested once again that Stephen had an ulterior motive for not having sent the money back already. Stephen firmly responded explaining that: 'lack of planning on your part does not make an emergency on my part.' 'Just return my money! It's pretty clear what your intentions are. The case will automatically be resolved once you return the money or I will close the case myself,' he wrote. ![]() John did not take kindly to this idea, and seemed to immediately fly off the handle. Sorting it out: Stephen explained that his PayPal balance was at $0, and asked his former boss to 'calm down' He wrote to John saying that he assumed the service would resolve the issue, but if the money is still in his account after it's resolved, he would send it back manually. The following day, Stephen logged into his account and discovered that John has opened a case on PayPal. He tried to resolve the issue with PayPal, but their process was going to take some time so he asked Stephen if he could return the money himself. The initial text was cordial enough, with John explaining that the money was meant to go to a different one of his employees. When John's money landed in his PayPal account, Stephen was entertaining a friend from out of town and was in no hurry to interrupt his visit - especially since Stephen didn't have the password to his account on hand.
